(Tom is trying to get ready for class. Lily and Emma are sitting on the bed, sipping coffee.)
Tom: (yelling) Hey, guys! Do you know where my socks are? I’ve looked everywhere!
Lily: (calmly) You left them in the laundry room again, Tom. You’re not the first person to do that.
Tom: (frustrated) I swear I put them in the hamper last night!
Emma: (laughing) Maybe they got lost in the “soul of the laundry room.” It’s a mysterious place.
Tom: (groans) Ugh, I don’t have time for this. I’m going to be late again!
Lily: (checks watch) You have 15 minutes. You can’t be late again. The professor said he’ll fail anyone who’s more than five minutes late.
Tom: (panicking) Oh no! What if I miss the quiz?
Emma: (smiling) Don’t worry, I’ll help you study later. But right now, we need to find your socks.
Scene 2: Hallway - Five Minutes Later
(Tom is running around the hallway with one sock on, the other missing. Lily and Emma follow behind.)
Lily: (calling out) Tom, wait up! You look like a confused chicken!
Tom: (out of breath) I found the laundry room, but the socks are gone! They vanished into thin air!

Emma: (pointing) There they are — on the floor next to the bed.
Tom: (shocked) What? I didn’t even see them!
Lily: (laughing) You’re hopeless.
Emma: (teasing) But you’re our hopeless roommate.
Tom: (grinning) At least I’m fun.
