Once upon a time, in the deep blue sea, there lived six sisters. They were all princesses of the ocean. The youngest sister was the most curious and dreamy one. She loved to float near the surface of the sea and watch the world above. Her heart yearned for the human world, even though she knew little about it.

One day, while floating near the surface, she saw a magnificent ship. On board was a handsome prince. A storm hit, and the ship sank. The little mermaid saved the prince from drowning, but he was unconscious when he reached the shore. She had to leave him there, hoping someone would find him.

From that moment on, her longing for humans grew stronger. She asked her grandmother if there was any way she could become human. Her grandmother told her about the sea witch who could help, but at a price. To gain a pair of legs, she would lose her voice and feel as if knives cut through her feet every time she walked.

Determined to see the prince again, she visited the sea witch. After making a deal, the sea witch gave her a potion. Drinking it, the little mermaid felt herself changing. Her tail transformed into two slender legs. However, she lost her beautiful singing voice.

With great courage, she went to the palace where the prince lived. He was kind and friendly, but he never realized she was the one who had saved his life. Every step she took was painful, like walking on sharp blades, yet she endured it all for love.

One day, the prince decided to marry another girl, thinking she was the one who had saved him. Heartbroken, the little mermaid thought she would die. But then, her sisters appeared with a knife given by the sea witch. If she killed the prince and let his blood fall on her legs, she could turn back into a mermaid.

Torn between life and death, the little mermaid chose love. As the sun rose, she dissolved into foam on the waves, becoming part of the sea forever.

This tale teaches us that true love is selfless and sacrifices can lead to beauty beyond measure.
